Our client is a leader in the supply chain technology software industry and has been in business over 40 years. Their software is used by organizations across the world.
Challenge
The customer has multiple software products in use at several hundred of their customer locations. The products including the applications and their associated databases were all on-premise at the customer sites. The customer wanted to move to the Cloud with Amazon Web Services but some of the data needed to remain onpremise thus creating a synchronization challenge. The other concern was trying to estimate what the data storage solution cost would be as they moved more and more of their customers to this new model.
Solution
Doozer initially gathered a sample of large and small customer database usage in order to better estimate the cost and size of the cloud based solution. We prototyped several data synchronization solutions to help the customer evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of each. This allowed the customer to develop their overall cloud migration strategy.
